Built around a single road, Acadia Estates offers 4 to 7 bedroom rental homes with multiple master bedrooms and high specification options.

For golfers visiting the area, there are a number of excellent courses available, including Mystic Dunes and Orange Lake Resort.

This new luxury gated community is set in 46 acres of tropical landscaping, offering standard and deluxe 4, 5 and 6 bedroom villas with their own private pools. To pass the time in a more relaxed setting, there are a number of picnic benches with barbecues alongside the lake. For the keen fishermen, the lake is stocked and can be fished with a local license.

Situated in a great location just off highway US192 (next to Medieval Times and WalMart), Bella Vida Resort offers luxury villas in a purpose built vacation community. Designed around 15 acres of conservation lake-land, there is a central clubhouse with large zero-entry pool, fitness room, volleyball courts and children's play-area. With so much available, even days off from the park are a pleasure.

Getting to the parks is straightforward, with back-door routes into Walt Disney World Resort and International Drive. Use Interstate 4 for Seaworld and Universal Studios. If you are visiting for a golfing holiday, you are as central as you can get, with courses located at all points on the compass - and all within 10 miles of the community.

A newer Calabay Parc gated community offering an array of luxury villas, some with views over Tower Lake and others within a few minutes walk. For the fishermen (and women) there is a fishing pier and plans for a community clubhouse - where you will be able to swap fisherman's tales. For golfers there is the Southern Dunes County Club and course which borders the community and lake, so no excuses.

When staying towards Haines City, expect a more rural, less glitzy feel - which can be a big plus to many visitors. Restaurants will not be as busy at peak times, prices should be cheaper and yet all the parks and attractions are accessible by heading north on Interstate 4.

Champions Gate is a newer, larger community located just of highway US27 and incorporates the sub-divisions the Retreat, Country Club, Estates and the Vistas. Offering luxury larger vacation villas with private pools, this community also borders the ChampionsGate golf club and has a central clubhouse.

Boasting excellent community facilities, the Oasis Club offers guests a resort pool, lazy river, children's splash zone, fitness centre, spa and sauna, games arcade, restaurant and beach volley court. An altogether great place to relax away from the attractions. There is also the Country Club at ChampionsGate which has a separate pool, tennis courts and take-out restaurant.

Compass Bay is a new purpose built gated complex located between highway US192 and SR535 consisting of town-house condominiums positioned around smaller lakes. Some condos have their own adjoining private pool, but there is always the larger community pool and cabana - which is available for residents and guests only. Children also have their own 'Tot Lot' playgrounds with climbing frames.

A small private gated community of landscaped gardens, situated on the south side of Poinciana Boulevard (off highway US192), towards the intersection with Orange Blossom Trail. Cumbrian Lakes is a peaceful community, with numerous lakes and nature trail walks to view the bird-life and wildlife that frequent the area. For the children, there is a play area, so a great excuse to bring out the sandwiches for a relaxing picnic.

If you are looking to visit the Saturday Night Cruise at Old Town, this is just over 6 miles from Indian Point. Also, if you enjoy animals, then you are in for a treat. Literally opposite the community is the Green Meadows Petting Farm. An excellent day out from the parks and an ideal place for letting the children get up close with farm-yard animals and even milk a cow!

A private gated community of just over 100 properties situated in the peacefulness around CR54 (on the south side of US27). Properties in Grand Reserve are built around conservation land and lake Thomas, so expect to see the Floridian wildlife, including blue herons amongst other bird-life.

Highgate Park is one of a number of purpose built part-vacation part-residential communities at The Villages of Legacy Park. A small, private gated community of 2 and 3 bedroom condominiums, located south of US192 and built alongside Oakwater lake. For guests staying at Oakwater, there is a clubhouse with concierge and fitness centre, as well as a large lagoon-style communal pool, tennis courts, basketball court and children's play area. For something a little more relaxing, take in the wildlife on the lake side conservation trail.

Being located very close to US192, Oakwater is one of the closest communities to Walt Disney World resort, which means it is ideal if you are looking to visit the attractions in the morning and relax back at your condo or pool in the afternoon.

Providence is a new luxury gated 2200 acre community built around the entrance to and alongside the Providence golf course. Standard and deluxe 3, 4, 5 and 6 bedroom villas with their own private pools are either located in smaller clusters around lakes or in a conservation area. The resort offers a fantastic central clubhouse, which has a communal pool, hot-tub, well-appointed fitness center and Internet business center. There are also tennis courts, a sand volleyball pitch, children's play-area and even a putting green. Which considering Providence Golf Club is on your doorstep could be very popular!

The Regal Palms Resort & Spa offers a collection of 3,4 and 5 bedroom rental homes and differs from the more traditional villa communities, in that it is based around a central pool complex and clubhouse. The pool area has 2 large heated pools, a shallow walk-in pool for small children, a lazy river, water slide and hot tub. Together this makes a fantastic place for families, especially when looking for a relaxing break from the theme parks and shops.

For a double-dose of relaxation, visit the spa or for the more active, a well-equipped fitness room. All of which are only available to guests staying in the resort. The clubhouse has a restaurant, sports bar, internet cafe, arcade games room and reception. There is also an outdoor activity play area for children and volleyball court. For golfers, there is absolutely no excuse as the Highlands Reserve course is just the other side of the main road.

Reunion Resort is one of the most prestigious communities which offers rental homes in the Walt Disney World area. It is a purpose built vacation resort, with magnificent landscaping and caters for the whole family. Built around three signature golf courses, for guests there is also a clubhouse, a spa, a tennis complex (with lit courts), 11 community pools and even a water park with lazy river! Needless to say that the fantastic facilities offered are matched by the luxurious vacation homes on offer.

Bordering a top-class golf course makes Ridgewood Lakes the perfect base for any golfer. Simply step out of bed onto the course! Located south of the intersection between Interstate 4 and US27, Ridgewood Lakes is a gated community which has been built around the golf course. Split into two subdivisions called Ridgewood Pointe and The Forest, each offers luxury rental properties of all sizes for visitors in quiet and peaceful setting . For small children there is a play area and as a guest, you can access the clubhouse.

When travelling to the theme parks, simply head north on Interstate 4. With US192 en-route and Universal Studios (including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter) a few miles past Walt Disney World, this is the recommended thoroughfare. Similarly, if you are looking to head towards the Gulf coast or Busch Gardens (in Tampa), head south on Interstate 4.

Situated on highway US27 - midway between the intersections of highway US192 and Interstate 4, Solana resort is a popular, gated community offering executive style villas with their own private pools. Central to the community is a clubhouse, which offers excellent facilities including a large heated pool with cabanas. There is also a multi-gym fitness room, an Internet cafe, shop, video arcade room for the kids and television lounge for those who just want to relax. Outside is a beach volleyball court, putting green, playing field, children's playing area, along with picnic and barbecue sites.

Solterra Resort is a new rental community offering luxury 4 bedroom townhouses through to 7 bedroom villas. All homes are located in a peaceful conservation area, with managed landscaping.

Central to the community is a clubhouse with excellent facilities. These include a lounge area with free Wi-Fi, a fitness centre, tennis courts, basketball courts, volley ball courts and a beach style pool with water slides, cabanas and even water slides. There is a playground for the younger members of your party and should wish to stay within the resort, there is also a restaurant.

Located south of the attractions, villas within the Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club benefit from three key points - they are alongside a PGA-rated championship golf-course (ideal if you are a golfer and do not want to walk far), there is a WalMart within walking distance (ideal if you like to shop) and the peacefulness of the location.

As a gated community, the villas are a mixture of residential and short-term rental homes. The community has tennis courts, a communal pool, a gym, a lake that can be fished and a children's play area. For those on vacation, there is a clubhouse attached to the golf course which is open to the public for drinks and snacks.

A small, private gated community, Sunset Lakes offers detached pool homes built around two naturally formed lakes. Both lakes are stocked and can be fished from the bank or small boat. Bird and wildlife spotters will be equally content with what can be seen on and around the lakes. There is also a community pool (with changing rooms and cabana alongside) and a children's play area of swings, slide and themed climbing frame.

Sunset Ridge is a gated resort of both residential and rental properties, located just south of the intersection between Interstate 4 and US27. With a mixture of excellent properties, nicely spaced for privacy and some bordering the adjacent lake, Sunset Ridge offers a welcome retreat away from the theme parks and attractions. For golfers, Deer Creek Golf Resort is opposite, with a number of first-rate courses within a 10 mile radius.

As US27 is becoming more popular for visitors to the area, more supermarkets, shops and restaurants are being opened. The recent Posner Park shopping complex - which is alongside the intersection with Interstate 4 - is a good example of this.

Terra Verde is a magnificently landscaped gated community in a great location for visiting Walt Disney World, Seaworld and Universal Studios. Set around a 3 acre lake, the resort community caters for all party sizes, with vacation villas from 3 to 7 bedrooms. The resort community has a central clubhouse, with an ATM, internet room, arcade games room, fitness room, business center and beauty salon. Outside there is a large heated community pool, beach with hammocks and pool-side tiki bar. For more active guests, there are new tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, table tennis, a playground for small children and for anyone wanting to fish, the lake is also stocked.

A small, quiet and gated community of around 50 private homes, located just off US192 and near to Medieval Times. As a community, The Hamlets offers quick routes to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Seaworld; via SR535. En route, there is also the Lake Buena Vista and Premium Shopping Outlets, which are favourites for bargain hunters.

Carry on a little further past Seaworld for International Drive (and the Orange County Convention center). International Drive offers an array of restaurants, shops, attractions, outlets and attractions. Back door routes to 'The Loop' complex and many of the lesser known area attractions make The Hamlets an excellent all round location to stay when visiting the area.

Tivoli Manor is located off highway US27 and is a small, private gated community of just 35 properties, offering 3, 4 and 5 bedroom rental houses. Being such a small community, expect a quiet, relaxing and friendly welcome in this popular Davenport area. Being located on US27, there is an excellent selection of first class golf courses nearby.

Town Center Reserve is a newer gated community hidden away amongst woodland south of the Walt Disney World resort area. The community consists of 94 rental homes which are built around or alongside three lakes, so when renting there, expect either a lakeside or conservation woodland view. As you may expect, if wildlife or fishing is your scene, then you are in for a treat. Such a relaxing location offers the peace and quiet not always found in rental communities and at times you may just forget how close you are to the area attractions.

Tuscan Hills is a newer gated resort, with landscaped gardens and Mediterranean styled 3, 4 and 5 bedroom villas with private pools, based around a central clubhouse. The clubhouse has a fully equipped exercise room, private office room with a computer and wireless internet connectivity. For relaxation, there is also a games room with pool table, foosball and air hockey. Outside, the community boasts a fenced children’s play area, tennis courts, a basketball and sand volleyball court.

Villa Sol is a new gated community, with luxury Spanish-styled rental villas and townhouses set in landscaped gardens on the east side of Kissimmee. For guests, the community boasts excellent community facilities, which include a clubhouse with a fitness room, communal pool and spa, tennis courts, a basketball court, children's play area and even communal barbecue facilities. If you are feeling a little more energetic, there are also walk-ways and cycle paths around the community fauna and flora. On the other hand, if fishing is your thing, there is a boat dock and ramp which can be used to access the bordering East Lake Tohopekaliga.

A new gated community, set in woodlands and lakelands off South Orange Blossom Trail, Watersong Resort offers executive Mediterranean style vacation properties. Built with a central clubhouse, which has a cyber cafe and fitness room. The resort also has a communal pool, basketball court, children's play area and picnic site. There is no need for golfers staying at Watersong to wake up too early, as Providence Golf Club is on your doorstep.

West Haven is a collection of a smaller gated sub-divisions, with upwards of 60 rental and residential properties within each. The sub-divisions at West Haven are: The Abbey, The Green, The Hamlet, The Manor, Sanctuary, The Shire and more recently, The Dales. Each sub-division is set off from tree-lined boulevards, with each offering luxury villas with private pools.

Dependent on which sub-division the villa is located, you may be able to use the clubhouse (and gymnasium), communal pool, tennis courts and volleyball pitch. For this reason, it is always best to first check with the villa owner to confirm access to these communal facilities.

Located just north of the intersection with US27 and Interstate 4, the West Haven communities border green land and orange grove area. With so many first-class golf courses within the locality, this area is an absolute must for golfers!

Weston Hills is a small, exclusive gated community, offering short-term rental properties within a predominantly residential neighbourhood. Surrounded by conservation wetland and open countryside, the community can feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the parks.

Local facilities include a community centre, number of swimming pools (with one specifically for children), a children's play area, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball court and even a soccer pitch. If you want to get away from it all, Lake Louisa State Park is north along US27, with its nature trails and fishing.

Just off highway 27 and incorporating the Manors North and South, the landscaped entries into Westridge take you past the excellent community facilities to a selection of new and well maintained rental homes with private screened pools. With a mixture of both residential and short-term lets, expect well maintained properties with a neighbourhood feel about it.

The excellent community facilities include: tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, large outdoor swimming pools, clubhouse and a children's playground, Westridge has earned its reputation as being 'family friendly'.

As a gated resort located just south of US192, Windsor Hills offers one of the best locations when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. With a mixture of luxury properties, from 2 and 3 bedroom condos, to 3, 4, 5 and 6 bedroom townhouses and villas - this community caters for parties of all sizes. As a vacation resort style community, there is a separate heated lagoon pool and central clubhouse, which has a movie theatre and games arcade. For the active guest, there is a fitness center, sports courts and putting green. Children get their own playground as well.

If you are looking to visit the Championship golf courses that the central Florida area has to offer, then you will not be disappointed. With a fantastic selection of first-rate courses available year round and very local to the community, Windsor Hills makes a fantastic location when visiting the parks, shops or attractions.

Situated in a great location just south of highway US192, Windsor Palms has both villas and condos, as well as being a fantastic resort with unrivalled facilities. They include clubhouse, cinema, gym/fitness room, convenience store, swimming pool / spa, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball court, children’s play area, video games, billiards room, picnic / BBQ area and table tennis. The resort also caters for those who cannot leave work at home with business facilities including Internet access.

For golfers, there are a great selection of championship courses in the area, which include the Mystic Dunes Resort. There is no excuse for not getting to the tee early, as it effectively borders Windsor Palms.

Unlike the majority of vacation communities, if you would rather leave the car at the villa for the day, there is even resort transportation to the main theme parks and shopping malls (for an additional fee).
